i got tagged. maybe you will too.

Four Jobs I’ve Had:
filer in doctors office
waitress at schnitzelhouse (mm, lekker!)
mailroom on campus at uni (best job! great bosses. good for the muscles. got to meet everyone in the different departments. candy from the buildings and grounds ladies. drove the security vehicle when mabel was sick. manoevred around mirror doors, religion and humanity's we-want-to-keep-you-out-or-make-entering-as-hard-for-you-as-possible-when-you're-carrying-large-and-very-heavy-boxes doors, and tight squeezes in wanna be elevators.)
secretaryish-give-her-all-the-work-we-don't-have-time-to-do-or-don't-want-to-do-bank-and-court-run-and-all-other-errand-runner-girl at my dad's office

Four Movies/shows I've been addicted to:
gilmore girls
pride and prejudice
return to me
oliver

Four Places I’ve Lived:
hartland
owen sound
north chili
amsterdam

Four Countries I would like to visit:
france

greece (as of tonight)

Four popular false assumptions about me:
i'm dating my guy friends (oh the rumours at college! ha!)
i'm athletic (should i mention the time i was looking at the racquetball and simultaneously got hit in the back of the head? or when i was waterskiing and i flew out of my skiis and ran on the water before a very painful faceplant...or when i simply tried to walk out a door and proceeded to get a goosegg on my head and break a vase of flowers...oh dear, i'll stop now)
i'm in the italian mafia (ok, only ricardo thinks this. but it's weird.)
i'm always happy (ok, this is mostly true. but not always)

Four people I look like (according to certain people):
my sister
someone told me once i look like some actor in a cheesy christian movie, like mcgee and me or something, and i was not very thrilled. it wasn't even the pretty girl (there were 2 girls in the movie). if you're gonna tell someone she looks like an actor, at least make it a pretty one.
my cousin heather
myself (sorry, feeling uncreative. no one thinks i look like anyone. i'm just me)

Four Things To Do Before I Die:
learn how to cartwheel! i've always wanted to, and always failed. i'll just have to keep trying.
make it into dutch publicity ;) (that's for you elke. then meghawoman will become justmeghs once again)
fly in uncle glenn's coot
go to every province and territory in canada!!

ok, i don't know who actually reads this blog...but i'll tag melissa and cecilia amd rala and nynke
girls are more likely to read this, right?

amsterdam

i realized yesterday that i hadn't posted any pics of amsterdam. so here are a few. i was also inspired yesterday to take some videos while cycling. probably the video would include a not so lovely crash if i did that, so i'll wait 'til the next time i'm riding on the back of a bike to take the video.

frost

Reluctance
by: Robert Frost

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question 'Whither?'

Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

Into My Own
by: Robert Frost

One of my wishes is that those dark trees,

So old and firm they scarcely show the breeze,
Were not, as 'twere, the merest mask of gloom,
But stretched away unto the edge of doom.

I should not be withheld but that some day
Into their vastness I should steal away,
Fearless of ever finding open land,
Or highway where the slow wheel pours the sand.

I do not see why I should e'er turn back,
Or those should not set forth upon my track
To overtake me, who should miss me here
And long to know if still I held them dear.

They would not find me changed from him they knew--
Only more sure of all I thought was true.

Desert Places
by: Robert Frost

Snow falling and night falling fast, oh, fast
In a field I looked into going past,
And the ground almost covered smooth in snow,
But a few weeds and stubble showing last.

The woods around it have it--it is theirs.
All animals are smothered in their lairs.
I am too absent-spirited to count;
The loneliness includes me unawares.

And lonely as it is that loneliness
Will be more lonely ere it will be less--
A blanker whiteness of benighted snow
With no expression, nothing to express.

They cannot scare me with their empty spaces
Between stars--on stars where no human race is.
I have it in me so much nearer home
To scare myself with my own desert places.
